Larry Small
DirectorLarry was the co-founder of Executive Appointments in 1985, and is a Director of the company, based in Auckland. He offers an in-depth background in senior and upper middle manager level recruitment consulting, psychometric assessment and appraisal work conducted across a broad range of private sector industries, central and local government.
Larry commenced his career as a secondary school teacher and then went on to work for several years in the entertainment and transport industries. In 1980 he joined a leading major HR consultancy firm, where he was appointed General Manager, and specialised in advising upon senior management, sales & marketing, accounting/finance and technical appointments. During his extensive career with Executive Appointments, Larry has enjoyed long standing relationships with clients with whom he has worked to build successful management teams. His work has also expanded into international recruitment, incorporating major Australasian-wide searches which he has project managed for clients in the Middle East.
Larry has a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts Degrees in Social Sciences from Auckland University. He has also completed a Secondary Teachers Diploma and a postgraduate Diploma in Human Resource Management. Larry has been a full member of the New Zealand Institute of Management Consultants (CMC) since 1987, and spent five years as a council member of Variety, the Children’s Charity. He also enjoys recognition as an accomplished professional singer and musician.

Courtenay Lane
Office Admin and SupportCourtenay manages the office administration and support functions for Executive Appointments including IT, Website and maintaining of the company’s extensive client and candidate database information. She also plays a key role as a research associate and manages all advertising preparation and placement.
Born in Auckland, Courtenay was taught at home for the first 10 years of her schooling which she then completed at Mt Roskill Grammar School. She was selected and offered a place in the Business Honours programme and is currently in her fourth year of a double Degree in Business and Law at AUT University.
Courtenay combines her studies with her busy role at Executive Appointments which sees her involved in extensive client interaction, administration and project management. She has a passion for business - understood from both a financial and legal perspective - and she is highly motivated by her aspirations to the highest standards of client service.
Courtenay is an avid follower of sports – in particular rugby and cricket - and she has played an active community role as a youth group leader. Other interests include drama and singing, distinguished by her role as a Head Chorister with Auckland Girls Choir and selection for the NZ Singing School.
